4. Google Adsense & Third-Party Advertising

DareMinds uses Google Adsense to display advertisements. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.

Third-party advertising cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not by this document.

5. Affiliate Links

DareMinds contains affiliate links to third-party platforms including Dhan, Lemon, Zerodha, Kuvera, INDmoney, Niva Bupa, and others. When you click these links and complete a qualifying action, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. All affiliate links are disclosed at the top of any article containing them. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial content.

6. Cookies

We use essential, analytical, and advertising cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect website functionality.

7. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with our email service provider, Google LLC (Analytics and AdSense), and as required by applicable Indian law.

8. Data Retention

Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. Anonymized analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings (26 months).

9. Your Rights Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023

Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data; withdraw consent; and nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf. Contact us via the Connect page to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

DareMinds is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us immediately for removal.

11. Security

We implement HTTPS encryption across the site and apply reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. External Links

DareMinds contains links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

13. User-Generated Content NEW

DareMinds does not currently host a public comment section. However, when users submit feedback, testimonials, replies to newsletter emails, or social media responses directed at DareMinds accounts, the following applies:

  • Testimonials and quotes: We may publish anonymized or attributed quotes from reader emails or social media comments as social proof on the website or newsletter, only if explicit written permission is first obtained from the individual concerned.
  • Feedback submissions: Reader feedback sent to DareMinds via email or the Connect page may be used internally to improve content. We will never publish identifiable feedback without consent.
  • Social media mentions: Content posted publicly on social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube comments) and tagged to DareMinds may be referenced or shared by DareMinds' accounts. If you wish us to remove a reference to your public content, contact us and we will comply within 14 days.
  • You retain ownership of any content you submit. By submitting content to DareMinds, you grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, adapt, and publish that content in connection with the DareMinds brand, which may be revoked at any time by written notice.

14. Data Localisation & Cross-Border Data Transfers NEW

DareMinds is operated from India. However, some of the third-party service providers we use (including Google LLC and our email service provider) store and process data on servers located outside India, including in the United States and European Union.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the Government of India may notify countries to which data transfer is permitted or restricted. DareMinds will comply with any such notifications and update this policy accordingly. By using this site and providing personal data, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than India.

Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on the contractual data processing agreements of our third-party providers (such as Google's Data Processing Terms) to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

15. Consent Withdrawal NEW

Where processing of your personal data is based on your consent (for example, newsletter subscription), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

  • Newsletter: Click the "Unsubscribe" link in any email we send. Removal is processed within 24–48 hours.
  • Cookies: Withdraw consent by adjusting your browser settings or using a consent management tool. Note that essential cookies cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
  • Analytics tracking: Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics on any site.
  • All other data: Submit a withdrawal request via the Connect page specifying the data you wish us to stop processing.

Withdrawing consent does not affect data already processed on the basis of that consent prior to withdrawal.

16. Behavioural Analytics & Heatmap Tools NEW

DareMinds may, from time to time, use behavioral analytics and heatmap tools (such as Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or similar services) to understand how visitors interact with the site—including mouse movements, scroll depth, clicks, and session recordings.

Important: These tools record anonymized or pseudonymized sessions. They do not capture passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal data entered into forms. Any personally identifiable information visible during a session recording is automatically masked by these platforms.

If and when such tools are active on dareminds.com, this clause will be updated with the specific provider name. You may opt out of session recording tools by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser (see Clause 21) or by using a privacy-focused browser extension.

17. Social Media Pixels & Embedded Content NEW

DareMinds may embed content from or use tracking pixels associated with the following third-party social platforms:

  • YouTube (Google LLC): Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's enhanced privacy mode where possible, which limits data collection until you play the video. Playback activates YouTube's own cookies and data collection practices.
  • Instagram (Meta Platforms): Links and embeds from Instagram may cause Meta's servers to collect your IP address and browser information when the content loads, even if you do not interact with it.
  • Meta Pixel: If DareMinds runs paid advertisements on Facebook or Instagram, a Meta Pixel may be active on the site to measure ad performance. This pixel collects anonymized conversion data. You may opt out via Meta's ad settings.

These third-party platforms operate under their own privacy policies. DareMinds does not control the data collected by these platforms and is not responsible for their practices.

18. Automated Decision-Making & AI Tools NEW

DareMinds does not use fully automated decision-making processes that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

However, DareMinds content is created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools for drafting, research, and editing purposes. The following applies:

  • AI tools used in content creation do not have access to subscriber personal data (names, email addresses, or usage histories).
  • No reader's personal data is submitted to AI platforms as part of the content creation process.
  • All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and approved by the human creator before publication. DareMinds takes full editorial responsibility for all published content.
  • DareMinds may use email platform automation (such as automated welcome sequences for new newsletter subscribers). These automations are based on subscription date and do not involve profiling or scoring of individual subscribers beyond basic segmentation (e.g., new vs. existing subscriber).

19. Data Breach Notification NEW

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals whose data DareMinds holds, we commit to the following:

  • Internal response: We will take immediate steps to contain the breach, assess its scope, and prevent further exposure within 24 hours of discovery.
  • Regulatory notification: In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India within the timeframe prescribed by applicable rules once enacted.
  • Subscriber notification: If the breach involves newsletter subscriber data and poses a high risk to affected individuals, we will notify affected subscribers by email within 72 hours of confirming the breach. The notification will describe the nature of the breach, categories of data affected, likely consequences, and steps taken or proposed.
  • Third-party breaches: If a breach originates from a third-party service provider (e.g., our email platform or Google), DareMinds will communicate the details of that provider's breach notification to affected subscribers as soon as the information is made available to us.
To report a suspected data breach or security vulnerability on dareminds.com, contact us immediately via the Connect page with the subject line "Security Report." We treat all such reports as high priority.

20. Newsletter Preferences & Subscriber Profiling NEW

When you subscribe to the DareMinds weekly dispatch, our email service provider may collect and store the following data points in addition to your name and email:

  • Open rate: Whether you opened a given email (tracked via a single-pixel image loaded from our email provider's server).
  • Click tracking: Which links inside the email you clicked are recorded via redirect URLs.
  • Device and client data: The email client (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) and approximate device type used to open the email.
  • Subscription source: Which page or form you used to subscribe.

This data is used solely to understand which content formats and topics resonate most with our audience and to improve future issues. It is not shared with advertisers or used to build individual marketing profiles for sale.

If you wish to read the newsletter without being tracked, many email clients offer a "load remote images" toggle that, when disabled, prevents open-tracking pixels from firing. This does not affect delivery of the newsletter.

You can update your newsletter preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any email we send.

21. Do Not Track (DNT) Signals NEW

Some web browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing activity not be tracked.

DareMinds' current position on DNT signals is as follows:

  • Google Analytics, our primary analytics provider, does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to browser-level DNT signals.
  • DareMinds does not currently have a mechanism to respond to DNT signals at the website level.
  • As a result, if you enable DNT in your browser, dareminds.com will not change its data collection behavior in response.

To opt out of analytics tracking effectively, we recommend using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, a privacy-focused browser (such as Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection enabled), or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.

We will review and update this clause as regulatory guidance on DNT signals evolves under the DPDP Act 2023.

22. Third-Party Comment, Community & WhatsApp Tools NEW

DareMinds operates or may operate community and discussion spaces on third-party platforms, including but not limited to a WhatsApp community channel and YouTube comment sections. The following applies to these spaces:

  • WhatsApp Community: If DareMinds operates a WhatsApp community channel, membership is voluntary. Your phone number is visible to the channel admin (DareMinds). WhatsApp's own privacy policy governs data processing on the WhatsApp platform; DareMinds does not control or access WhatsApp's servers or data.
  • YouTube Comments: Comments posted on the DareMinds YouTube channel are governed by Google/YouTube's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. DareMinds can view and moderate comments on its own channel but does not export or store comment data separately.
  • Future comment tools: If DareMinds adds a native comment or forum feature to dareminds.com in the future, a separate clause covering that tool's data practices will be added to this policy, and users will be notified via the newsletter.
  • Conduct: DareMinds reserves the right to remove from its community spaces any content that is abusive, misleading, or violates the spirit of honest, constructive discussion that DareMinds stands for. Repeated violations may result in removal from the community.

23. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email. Continued use of the site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

24. Contact
